ABOUT NORTH 47 STUDIO

Everything created at North 47 Studio is made in the sunniest room of a 150 year old farm house in Montague, Massachusetts. The frames are custom made for each piece by me, and are cut and sanded in an old barn on the property with wood from my favorite lumberyard the next town over (shout-out to Forest Products Associates in Greenfield). Every leaf, fern, and piece of bark were collected on one of my many wandering walks in the woods, or saved from a bouquet I wanted to remember. Every piece I make has a memory of a day, or holds the place of a day that’s been forgotten.

ABOUT EMILY

Emily spends way too much time in the woods. Born in Salt Lake City, she moved to Boston in her early 20s to live a little (which she did). After graduating from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts with a degree in Biology, she worked as a field botanist conducting rare plant surveys on the Monongahela National Forest. Once returning to New England, she settled in western Mass where she continues to walk in the forests for hours on end, generally avoiding as many hassles of modern life as possible. She also makes what you see here.

Emily doesn’t use social media because she thinks it’s a complete waste of time, so if you want to contact her you’ll need to send an email (like an adult).
